If you’re thinking about a weekend getaway and wondering what to see in two days in Seville, you’re in the right place. In this guide, we’ll show you how to make the most of your two days in Seville, exploring its cultural wonders, delicious gastronomy, and rich history. Are you ready to immerse yourself in the magic of Seville?

Day 1 of Seville in a weekend: Explore the historical charm of Seville.

1. The Cathedral and the Giralda of Seville

Start your day early with a visit to the majestic Seville Cathedral. This wonder is the largest Gothic cathedral in the world. Immerse yourself in centuries of history and admire its impressive architecture, the Patio de los Naranjos, the Tomb of Christopher Columbus, and of course, conclude your visit by climbing La Giralda, the cathedral’s tower, as it offers breathtaking panoramic views of the city.

Seville Cathedral opens at 11:00, but if you don’t want to wait in lines or risk missing out on tickets, we recommend booking this guided tour, where you’ll be given all the details about this Gothic marvel of Seville. Alternatively, if you prefer to visit on your own, you can purchase tickets in advance on this website.

2. Royal Alcázar of Seville

The next must-see in a weekend in Seville is the Alcázar, located just a few minutes’ walk from the cathedral. This palace, which combines Mudéjar, Gothic, and Renaissance architectural styles, is a reflection of Seville’s history and the various cultures that have lived in this city.

Explore its gardens, the courtyards adorned with tiles, and its halls decorated with wonderful details.

The exceptional beauty of the Royal Alcázar of Seville is such that it has even served as a setting for the Game of Thrones series.

You can book this guided tour of the Alcázar to not miss a single detail. Although our recommendation to save time and money is to take this combined tour of the Alcázar, the Cathedral, and the Giralda, in 3 and a half hours you will have visited the three most important monuments of Seville with a guide who will help you discover the beauty of the Andalusian capital.

When you finish these visits, it will be time for lunch, so we recommend trying the wonderful cuisine of this city at Casa Pepe Hillo, where you can’t miss their bull tail, or tasting the tapas at Bodeguita Antonio Romero and their famous Piripi montadito.

If you eat at one of these restaurants, you’ll be just a few meters away from the Torre del Oro, so take advantage and go see the wonderful view of the tower with the Guadalquivir River in the background.

Next, we’ll tell you what to see in Seville on the first day of your weekend in the afternoon.

3. Santa Cruz Quarter

In the next step of your itinerary to visit Seville in two days, head to the Santa Cruz Quarter, a labyrinth of narrow streets, picturesque squares, and houses and courtyards adorned with flowers. This ancient Jewish quarter invites you to lose track of time as you explore its alleyways full of history. You can’t miss Callejón del Agua, Calle Vida, Plaza de Santa Cruz, and, of course, the Church of Santa María la Blanca.

4. The Center of Seville

After wandering through the Santa Cruz Quarter, you can take a stroll through the center of Seville to experience the life and joy that emanates from its streets. We won’t provide a specific route for this walk, but you shouldn’t miss: Plaza de San Francisco, Plaza Nueva (where Seville City Hall is located), Sierpes, Tetúan, and Cuna Streets (main shopping streets), the former Plaza del Pan (now called Plaza de Jesús de la Pasión), La Cuesta del Rosario, and, of course, Plaza del Salvador and the church that bears its name (undoubtedly one of the favorite meeting places for Sevillians).

If you don’t want to miss anything on your stroll through the center of Seville, you can book this free tour an or this private tour of Seville and learn more about the meaning and fascinating history behind all the squares and streets mentioned above.

5. Flamenco in Triana

A weekend in Seville allows for plenty of experiences, so one evening you can cross the river and venture into the neighborhood of Triana, the birthplace of flamenco. Enjoy an authentic flamenco experience at one of its local tablaos. Book your ticket here for the best flamenco tablao in Triana.

Let yourself be carried away by the passion and rhythm of this unique art!

Finally, after having enjoyed an authentic flamenco show, you can have dinner in Triana to discover the neighborhood’s nightlife. We recommend trying the tortillitas de camarones and the fried fish at Restaurante Amarra, located on Pagés del Corro Street.

Day 2 of Seville in a weekend: Discover modern and traditional Seville.

The second day of your weekend in Seville can start by trying the typical breakfast of “mollete” (a type of Sevillian bread used for making toast) with Iberian ham and olive oil – a true delicacy to start the day off right! You can try it at almost any bar or café that’s open in the morning, so you can have breakfast near your accommodation, which will always be cheaper than in the heart of Seville.

1. Plaza de España

One of the must-visit places in Seville in a weekend is the majestic Plaza de España (Spain Square). It was built for the Ibero-American Exposition of 1929 and represents one of the main landmarks of Seville, so visiting it is essential. Be impressed by its grand dimensions and cross its bridges to reach another symbolic element of the square: the benches. There are a total of 48 benches representing the 46 provinces of Spain, plus the Canary and Balearic Islands. Each of them displays the coat of arms, map, and images of historical events represented on their tiles.

2. María Luisa Park

Right in front of the Plaza de España is the María Luisa Park, the green lung of Seville. This large park is full of fascinating stories.

Since the next point to visit in your two days in Seville is closer to the center, you can have lunch at Bodeguita Dos de Mayo or, undoubtedly, try the unbeatable croquettes at Casa Ricardo (formerly known as Casa Ovidio) – you won’t taste croquettes like these anywhere else!

3. Fine Arts Museum

If you’re interested in art, you have to make time in your weekend in Seville to visit the Bellas Artes Museum. Being one of the most important museums in Spain, it houses works by the most renowned artists of Spanish and Andalusian art. Works by Velázquez, Murillo, or Zurbarán stand out.

The Fine Arts Museum opens at 9 in the morning, and the only day it remains closed is Monday. Entry to the museum is free for EU citizens (€1.5 if you come from outside the EU), although if you want to explore the Fine Arts Museum with a specialized guide to discover the most interesting details and essential pieces, you can book this guided tour.

4. The Mushrooms of Seville

To conclude your weekend visit to Seville, you have to discover the most modern part of the city: Metropol Parasol, better known as the “Mushrooms of Seville” due to its shape, which resembles giant mushrooms. Its construction began in 2005, when important archaeological remains from the Roman and Arab periods were discovered, giving the project significant historical value. You can ascend to the surface from where you’ll find beautiful views of the city of Seville.

The entrance fee is €15, although there are some discounts that you might be able to use, and it includes entry to the Antiquarium, where you can see an exhibition of the archaeological remains found during its construction.
